(01) Brief
Finding your way through a hundred years of objects.
The archive moved into a four-storey textile mill with long corridors and identical rooms. Visitors kept getting lost, and the building’s listed status meant almost nothing could be fixed to the walls.
(02) Approach
Signs that lean, hang and stand on their own.
All signs are freestanding steel plates or are painted directly onto existing surfaces. Each floor has one large numeral, and room numbers follow the original mill numbering found on old plans.
